Injectables are placed using a tiny needle. The injections will be placed only where augmentation is needed. Treatment typically takes under 30 minutes, and results for most fillers are seen immediately following treatment. Most of our patients are able to return to work or other everyday activities right after treatment.
The newest injectable filler, SELPHYL®, provides what some call a temporary facelift through a two-step procedure. First, Dr. Devlin extracts a small amount of your blood. After separating the platelets from the red blood cells, he blends the platelets with a proprietary synthetic mixture and injects that mixture into your frown lines, smoothing them away for a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. In addition to frown lines, Dr. Devlin can use SELPHYL® to treat acne scars and hollow cheeks, and to soften lines around the mouth and nose.

Recovery
Injectable treatments require virtually no downtime. While some patients may experience slight swelling and redness at the injection site, this typically goes away quickly. Treatment results last about 3 to 6 months on average after the initial procedure, depending on the filler used. Some fillers, such as Sculptra®, are formulated to last several years before re-treatment is necessary. SELPHYL® also involves no downtime, with only mild swelling and bruising for a day or two. It activates new skin cell growth, resulting in a stronger collagen support structure. Over time, SELPHYL® minimizes signs of aging such as lines and hollows. Benefits typically last for more than a year.
